Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy, then set aside.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet to smooth out any creases. Cut the pastry into squares (about 4x4 inches each).
In a separate bowl, combine sliced strawberries, cornstarch, and lemon juice. Toss them gently until the strawberries are well coated.
Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square. Top it with a spoonful of the strawberry mixture.
Fold over the corners of the pastry squares to form a triangle or leave the edges open for a more rustic look. Press the edges gently to seal.
In a small bowl, mix the beaten egg with the milk. Brush the egg wash over the pastry for a beautiful, golden finish.
Sprinkle a little granulated sugar on top of each Danish for added sweetness and crunch.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the pastries are puffed and golden brown.
Remove from the oven and allow them to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve on a decorative plate, dust with additional powdered sugar, and garnish with whole strawberries for a pop of color.
