In a large mixing bowl, combine the broccoli florets with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, lemon zest, and red pepper flakes (if using). Toss until the broccoli is evenly coated.
Spread the broccoli mixture evenly on a baking sheet, making sure the florets are not overcrowded for optimal roasting.
Roast in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender and slightly crispy on the edges, stirring halfway through cooking.
Remove the baking sheet from the oven and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top. Return it to the oven for an additional 3-5 minutes, allowing the cheese to melt and turn lightly golden.
Once done, drizzle the lemon juice over the roasted broccoli and toss gently to combine.
Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.
