Ingredients
2
cups
pretzel sticks
1
cup
chocolate chips (dark or milk chocolate)
1
cup
caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
0.5
cup
sea salt (for sprinkling)
0.5
cup
chopped nuts (like pecans or almonds)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
Spread the pretzel sticks evenly on the parchment-lined baking sheet in a single layer.
Bake the pretzels for 5 to 7 minutes until they are slightly golden and warm; this helps them maintain crunchiness even after adding the toppings.
Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the pretzels cool for a few minutes.
In a small saucepan over low heat, warm the caramel sauce until it becomes pourable. If using store-bought, you can microwave it for about 30 seconds.
Pour the warm caramel sauce over the pretzels, ensuring they are evenly coated. Use a spatula to spread if necessary.
Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the caramel-coated pretzels while they are still warm, allowing them to melt slightly.
Once the chocolate is slightly melted, use a spatula or the back of a spoon to gently spread the chocolate evenly over the surface.
If desired, sprinkle the chopped nuts evenly over the melted chocolate.
Finally, sprinkle a generous amount of sea salt over the entire surface to enhance the flavor.
Allow the bark to cool at room temperature or refrigerate for about 30 minutes until the chocolate and caramel have set completely.
Once set, break the bark into pieces of your desired size.
Notes
Serve on a decorative platter or package in clear bags for gifts.
